Welcome to Nos Da Ty (or The Good Night Hotel in Welsh), our boutique house beside the Koggala Lagoon on the beautiful island of Sri Lanka.

Inviting, relaxing, stylish and hopefully as individual as us, the Sri Lankan and Welsh owners.

A secluded place of serenity – or a base for your island adventures – every stay here is colourful, unique, creating a lifetime of memories.

Experience Sri Lanka

A destination full of real character, that invites you to unwind, explore and truly escape.
What makes it so perfect? Here’s what we think.

“Cascading waterfalls, green hills, deep valleys, lush mountains, incredible wildlife reserves and safaris, artisans, fishermen and fishing villages, tropical gardens, the Buddha, quality boutique shopping and local stalls, gems, dance and music, thrilling sports and lastly, but for me the most important, a once-in-a-lifetime holiday.”

Peter Illtyd Welch, co-owner of Nos Da Ty.

Our story

Peter Illtyd Welch and Indra Weligamage would love to welcome you to Nos Da Ty.

After 25 years as a Disney travel executive, Peter had a desire to create a small piece of paradise on Sri Lanka’s south coast.

“On meeting during an England cricket tour to Sri Lanka, we discovered Indra and I had the same ambition. And this is it, a place to share our love of the land, its people and stories with guests from all over the world.”

Indra, a native Sri Lankan whose family has lived in Koggala for generations, has been a chef and travel guide for 30 years. This hotel is a shrine to a shared culinary passion, and an insight into island life.
